Play Along® Introduces Completely Updated Care Bears – new look and feel!

Deerfield Beach, FL – February 12, 2006 – Play Along, Inc., a division of JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq:JAKK), will show its 2006 Care Bears line at the American International Toy Fair. By updating Care Bears, the beloved and bestselling children’s brand created and owned by American Greetings®, Play Along’s 2006 line-up features both classic and modern touches to offer something new for everyone.

For the first time ever, Care Bears are getting a brand new look and feel…and smell. The new floppy Care Bears are extra-soft and ultra-huggable, thanks to their silky fur and under-stuffed pose. Twenty floppy bears will be released throughout 2006, and they’ll be scented with  different yummy fragrances like vanilla, grape or strawberry. Each of the cuddly new Care Bears comes with a DVD featuring one or two episodes of the classic 1980’s Care Bears cartoon. For ages 3 and up.

Also new for 2006, the very first bilingual Care Bears, Amigo Bear™, teaches children bilingual skills.  With Care Bears Tele-Friend™, not only can English-speaking children learn to speak Spanish, but Spanish-speaking children can learn English, too. Press Amigo Bear's phone to hear phrases that teach numbers, colors, and simple conversation.  By moving the phone from one hand to the other, children can switch between English and Spanish modes. No matter which language a child speaks, the Care Bears’ lessons of caring and sharing are universally understood. For ages 4 and up.

Children have always loved the classic game of Hide ‘N Seek. Now, Play Along’s new Hide ‘N Seek Care Bear offers an updated, interactive version of this much-loved children’s game. It’s even more fun to play this classic game with the Hide ‘N Seek Care Bear and its accompanying “Care Bear Finder”. Once the Care Bear is hidden, the Finder lets kids know when they’re getting close to the hiding spot through lights and sounds. Fun phrases, like "I'm hiding…Come find me!" and "You're getting warmer", can be heard through the Finder. Either for one or more players, Hide ‘N Seek Care Bear offers a different game experience every time!  For ages 4 and up.
